Legal, data accuracy & licensing

HotelChrono is an independent data product. A registered legal entity will be named here once the company is formally incorporated. Until then, the operator can be reached at hello@hotelchrono.com for any legal, data or commercial matter.

Every published build and renovation year links to a cited source — our iron rule is no quote, no data. We grade each source (official register > editorial > reference/Wikipedia > weak) and show the confidence on each profile.

Forecasts and estimates (e.g. the renovation forecast, estimated project value) are clearly labelled as estimates, not facts. A renovation that is only announced or under way is shown as “under renovation” — it does not count as a completed renovation or raise the freshness score. We do not scrape booking sites or hotel photos.

We build at scale, so errors can occur — and we treat them as part of the product. Anyone can report an error on any profile. Hoteliers can claim their hotel and submit proof. We aim to review reports within 5 business days and correct or annotate the record. An autonomous re-verification process also re-checks records over time, so “under renovation” becomes “renovated” once a property reopens.

The free tier (search and the public API) is for non-commercial use with attribution to HotelChrono. Commercial use — redistribution, internal business tooling, OTA/app integration, valuation or lead generation — requires a commercial licence via the Data API. You may not resell raw data or present it as your own. Source links and the methodology must remain intact where data is displayed.

We target high availability on a best-effort basis for the free tier. Business and Enterprise plans can include a written service-level target (uptime and support response) and higher rate limits — agreed per contract. Contact us for specifics.

Paid plans are monthly and can be cancelled any time; access continues to the end of the billing period. For any billing question or issue, email hello@hotelchrono.com and we'll make it right.

We respect GDPR — see our Privacy Policy for your rights and our subprocessors (Vercel, Supabase, Anthropic, email provider). HotelChrono's dataset is about buildings and businesses, not personal data. A Data Processing Agreement (DPA) is available on request for B2B customers who need one; it will be executed under the registered legal entity once incorporated.
